Job Summary
The Content Writer will create compelling content for both internal and external audiences, including website articles, blog stories, newsletters, social media posts, video scripts, and organizational communication materials. You will work under the Communications team and collaborate closely with staff across PIH Rwanda, the U.S. coordination office, and community stakeholders.
Story Development & Editorial Work
Translate complex health and social justice topics into clear, human-centered narratives.
Edit and refine content produced by PIH teams to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with organizational standards.
Cross-Team Collaboration
Support coordination of communications for digital platforms serving national and international audiences.
Digital & Multimedia Content
Assist in planning and scripting video and multimedia stories.
Conduct interviews with staff, patients, and community partners.
Social Media Management
Monitor engagement and performance analytics to recommend improvements.
Ensure all digital content aligns with PIH’s mission, tone, and branding guidelines.
Fundraising Support
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or related field.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of professional writing or editorial experience.
Strong portfolio demonstrating digital writing, storytelling, or multimedia content creation.
Skills
Familiarity with content management systems and Microsoft 365.
Knowledge of social media analytics and digital marketing tools.
Basic skills in video editing or multimedia storytelling (an added advantage).
Strong understanding of communicating on global health, equity, or development issues.
