JOB SUMMARY

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is recruiting a Vaccinator to support immunization activities in Maiduguri, Borno State. The role focuses on safe vaccine administration, cold chain management, patient screening, and documentation in line with MSF and national EPI protocols.

This position plays a critical role in preventing vaccine-preventable diseases in vulnerable communities affected by conflict and limited access to healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer vaccines safely according to MSF and national EPI guidelines
  • Screen patients for eligibility and contraindications before vaccination
  • Monitor vaccine storage temperatures and report cold chain breaches immediately
  • Record vaccinations accurately in registers, tally sheets, and patient cards
  • Monitor patients for adverse events following immunization (AEFI)
  • Maintain proper stock levels and inform supervisors of shortages
  • Ensure safe segregation and disposal of sharps and medical waste
  • Submit daily reports on vaccination numbers and stock usage
  • Report safety incidents and protocol deviations promptly

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Nursing, Public Health, Community Health, or related field
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in vaccination or immunization programs
  • Knowledge of national Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) guidelines
  • Experience working in NGO or humanitarian settings is an advantage
  • Ability to maintain accurate medical records
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
