Job Opportunity: Driver & Logistics Assistant – Rubavu Office
The Wellspring Foundation is seeking a Driver and Logistics Assistant to join its Rubavu team. This role is crucial in supporting safe transport, logistics, and administrative duties to ensure smooth program operations across Rwanda and occasionally in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Vehicle Management
- Provide safe, efficient transport for staff and visitors in line with Wellspring’s policies.
- Follow all Rwandan traffic laws and maintain accurate vehicle logbooks.
- Conduct regular vehicle checks, maintenance, and ensure vehicles remain clean and presentable.
- Safeguard assigned vehicles and ensure passengers’ safety.
- Assist with occasional guest tours, errands, or shopping support.
Logistics & Administrative Support
- Assist in organizing logistics for workshops, trainings, and events.
- Help with bookings for accommodation, restaurants, and transport plans.
- Support in preparing fuel reports and supervising security/cleaning staff.
- Provide office support including photocopying, scanning, typing, and courier deliveries.
- Assist procurement processes by gathering quotes or shopping for supplies.
- Comply with Wellspring’s Child Safeguarding Policy in all activities.
Requirements
Qualifications
- At least an A-Level Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driving license (Category B minimum).
- Minimum 5 years’ driving experience in varied terrains (NGO experience preferred).
- Valid police clearance certificate (not older than 2 months).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English (spoken & written).
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email).
- Problem-solving and proactive attitude with strong time management.
- Team player, well-organized, and punctual.
- Ability to travel within Rwanda and occasionally to Uganda.
