Good Neighbors International (GNI) is a global humanitarian and development organization with consultative status at the UN ECOSOC, operating in 40+ countries worldwide. In Rwanda, GNI supports programs in child protection, health, education, WASH, agriculture, humanitarian assistance, and social economy across 19 districts.
To strengthen its finance team, GNI Rwanda is seeking a qualified and motivated Accountant to join the Head Office in Kigali.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare project payment approval requests for CDPs and project teams.
- Manage budget execution and provide timely reports.
- Handle bank accounts for project sites, record financial transactions, and ensure accuracy.
- Assist with budget analysis and financial reporting, including petty cash management.
- Record financial transactions in QuickBooks and maintain monthly vouchers.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and confidentiality standards.
- Monitor monthly budget execution and report progress to the Head Accountant.
- Prepare payments, verify supporting documents, and request disbursements.
- Maintain proper filing of all financial documents.
- Support other finance tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (A0) in Accounting, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting (NGO experience preferred).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Advanced computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet applications.
- Strong communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.
