The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) is seeking to recruit three (3) highly skilled Communication Specialists to strengthen its communications team. § Key Responsibilities
As a Communication Specialist at RDB, you will:
- Ensure the production of high-quality communication materials.
- Supervise the development of training content for staff.
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Lead communication needs assessments across RDB departments.
- Support staff recruitment for communications roles.
- Design and coordinate media engagement strategies.
- Manage and oversee the official RDB communication calendar.
- Coordinate timely placement and responses on strategic issues.
- Provide guidance to RDB management and staff on communications matters.
- Supervise content creation based on organizational priorities.
- Monitor the rollout of communication campaigns.
- Lead campaigns for key programs and high-level events.
- Draft terms of reference for communication-related activities.
- Arrange interviews and manage media coverage of RDB events.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must hold one of the following degrees with the relevant years of experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or Media with 3 years of professional experience.
- Master’s Degree in the same fields with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Core Competencies & Technical Skills
Successful candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong command of written and spoken English (French and Kinyarwanda are an advantage).
- Proficiency in design and editing tools.
- Ability to professionally handle video and photography equipment.
- Skills in photography, videography, and editing.
- Solid knowledge of social media platforms and digital engagement.
- Ability to translate audio-visual concepts into effective communication materials.
- Experience in journalism, film, or television production.
- Strong creative skills, with expertise in video and photo direction.
- Excellent coordination, time management, and analytical skills.
