Job Position
- Title: Media and Communications Coordinator
- Location: Kaduna, Nigeria

- Reports to: ROOSC Project Director
- Contract: Full-time / Regular

Role Purpose
The Media and Communications Coordinator will lead all communication and visibility efforts for the ROOSC project. This includes developing strategic communication plans, creating engaging content, managing media relations, and ensuring alignment with donor requirements and organizational branding.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Communication & Visibility
- Implement and review project communication strategies.
- Align activities with donor guidelines and advocacy goals.
- Coordinate with project teams and partners for timely communication outputs.
2. Content Development & Storytelling
- Produce human-interest stories, blogs, videos, and testimonials.
- Manage ethical field visits for content gathering.
- Develop branded materials such as brochures, banners, and factsheets.
3. Media & Public Engagement
- Organize community radio/TV programs and interactive events.
- Coordinate media coverage for project activities and high-level visits.
- Support campaigns, exhibitions, and awareness events.
4. Digital & Social Media Management
- Develop and execute a tailored social media strategy.
- Share updates across SCI and partner platforms.
- Create toolkits, tweet sheets, and success stories.
5. Internal & Donor Communication
- Provide updates for donor reports and internal newsletters.
- Collaborate with Save the Children’s country office comms team.
6. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning
- Track and report communication outputs and audience engagement.
- Evaluate impact and adapt strategies as needed.
- Maintain a digital repository of images, videos, and media coverage.
7. Visual Content Creation
- Capture professional photos and videos during field activities.
- Record testimonials and project highlights.
- Deliver ready-to-use visuals for social media and reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
- Proficiency in social media management and content creation tools.
- Experience with media engagement and event organization.
Desirable Skills:
- Prior experience with donor-funded projects.
- Photography and video editing skills.
- Fluency in Hausa or other local languages (an asset).
- Graphic design experience (preferred but not required).
