 Job Overview

The UN Global Pulse, operating under UNOPS, is looking for an experienced Partnerships Senior Officer (P-2/ICS-09) to strengthen its new business development, donor engagement, and partnership strategies—particularly within the Finnish and Nordic innovation ecosystem.

This position plays a key role in driving digital innovation, supporting global program development, and expanding strategic relationships essential for UN innovation at scale.

The Partnerships Senior Officer will support UNGP’s mandate to advance innovations, strengthen global frameworks, and scale UN system transformation.

 Purpose of the Role

The Partnerships Senior Officer will contribute directly to new business development, resource mobilization, innovation ecosystem engagement, and relationship management to expand UNGP’s partnership pipeline.

This role is essential for maintaining strong donor relations, developing proposals, and building strategic collaborations that support the UN’s future-focused innovation agenda.

 Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Prospecting

  • Identify new collaboration and funding prospects (financial & non-financial)
  • Maintain a comprehensive partnership pipeline, tracking progress and forecasts
  • Support outreach and coordinate introductory meetings with potential partners

2. Proposal Development & Resource Mobilization

  • Draft concept notes, proposals, pitch decks, and due-diligence documentation
  • Coordinate contributions from internal teams to ensure aligned proposals
  • Promote ethical and inclusive partnership practices

3. Innovation Ecosystem Engagement

  • Support visibility events, stakeholder meetings, and innovation gatherings
  • Represent UN Global Pulse in selected conferences and engagements

4. Internal Coordination & Communications

  • Contribute to annual donor strategies and workplans
  • Build strong relationships across UNGP hubs
  • Support knowledge sharing on new partners, opportunities, and engagement activities

 Required Qualifications

Education

Master’s degree (or equivalent) in:
International Relations, Public Policy, Business Administration, Communications, Innovation Management, or related fields + 2 years of experience
OR
Bachelors degree + 4 years of relevant experience

Experience

Required

  • Experience in partnerships, donor relations, or business development
  • Proven private-sector fundraising experience (UN or humanitarian setting)
  • Experience developing and implementing fundraising or donor strategies

Desired

  • Familiarity with donor trends and funding landscape
  • Experience with innovation ecosystems or philanthropic networks
  • Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects
  • Experience in UN partnership planning and resource mobilization

Languages

  • English: Fluent (Required)
  • Finnish: Intermediate (Desirable)

 Salary & Benefits (Indicative for P-2 Helsinki Duty Station)

  • Estimated Monthly Salary: USD 5,500–7,300 (P-2 level, tax-free)
