Job Overview
Are you passionate about inclusive education and ensuring every child learns? UNICEF Nigeria is hiring a Consultant for Inclusive Education under the Education Cannot Wait (ECW) MYRP II program.
This role focuses on helping the Nigerian Government and partners strengthen systems and strategies that make education accessible to children with disabilities — especially in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa States.
Purpose of the Assignment
You’ll lead efforts to:
- Support the Ministry of Education and partners in implementing inclusive education policies.
- Conduct technical assessments and develop training materials for teachers.
- Improve access to quality learning for children with disabilities.
- Build the capacity of State and local education actors through mentoring, coaching, and workshops.
Your work will directly help thousands of children access the education they deserve.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to UBEC and education stakeholders on inclusive education policy.
- Develop national guidelines and operational protocols for inclusive classrooms.
- Review and update teacher training materials for inclusive learning.
- Support State Governments to domesticate inclusive education action plans.
- Assist MYRP partners in integrating inclusive education practices into their projects.
Deliverables
- Comprehensive report on disability assessments and referral pathways.
- Updated inclusive education guidelines.
- Revised teacher training materials.
- Summary of technical support and high-level workshop outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, Special or Inclusive Education preferred.
- Minimum 10 years’ global experience in inclusive education.
- At least 5 years’ experience in developing countries.
- Proven ability to design and lead technical workshops and assessments.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills in English.
