The Women and Children Health Empowerment Foundation (WACHEF) is a leading non-governmental organization (NGO) registered in Nigeria. RFQ Overview

With funding support from ActionAid Nigeria under the Local Rights Programme (LRP), WACHEF invites qualified and reputable contractors to submit quotations for the:

Construction of a Handpump Borehole
Location: Nyaladi Shambung Community, Yorro LGA, Taraba State

 

 Scope of Work

The selected contractor will be responsible for completing all technical and construction activities necessary to deliver a fully functional handpump borehole. The scope includes:

  • Conducting a hydrogeological survey and site selection
  • Drilling and casing of the borehole
  • Installation of handpump system
  • Construction of concrete platform, drainage channel, and aprons
  • Water quality testing
  • Final painting, finishing, and site clean-up

A detailed Bill of Quantities (BoQ) and technical specifications are included in the RFQ package.

Eligibility Requirements

Interested contractors must include the following documents in their submission:

  1. Valid Certificate of Incorporation (CAC Registration)
  2. Tax Identification Number (TIN) and Tax Clearance Certificates for the last three (3) years
  3. Evidence of similar borehole or water project works completed in the last three (3) years (attach award or completion certificates)
  4. Proof of ownership or access to drilling equipment and related machinery
  5. Office address in Taraba State or proof of verifiable experience working in rural Taraba communities

 

Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be assessed based on:

  • Compliance with the technical specifications and BoQ
  • Cost-effectiveness and value for money
  • Experience and technical expertise
  • Availability of appropriate equipment
  • Proposed project completion timeline

Only contractors meeting both technical and financial requirements will be contacted.

 

 Project Timeline

The handpump borehole construction must be completed within 21 days from the date of contract signing.

 

 Payment Terms

  • 50% upon contract signing and mobilization to site
  • 50% upon successful completion, inspection, and certification by WACHEF

Payments will be processed within seven (7) working days after fulfilling the stated conditions.

 

Standards and Quality Assurance

All works must comply with national rural water supply standards.
WACHEF reserves the right to inspect, verify, and reject any substandard work at any stage of implementation.
