Job Overview: Nutrition, Health & WASH Coordinator
World Vision Rwanda is seeking a qualified and experienced Rwandan professional to fill the position of Nutrition, Health & WASH Coordinator, based in Kigali with regular field travel.
This is a senior coordination role offering strong career growth opportunities within a globally respected humanitarian organization. The successful candidate will provide strategic, technical, and programmatic leadership for integrated Health, Nutrition, and WASH Behavior Change Communication (BCC) interventions.
Role Purpose
The Nutrition, Health & WASH Coordinator will lead the design, implementation, and scaling of evidence-based, community-driven interventions aimed at improving nutrition outcomes, preventing disease, and enhancing the wellbeing of children and caregivers.
Key intervention models include:
- Positive Deviance / Hearth (PD/Hearth)
- Growth Monitoring & Promotion (GMP)
- Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM)
- Hygiene and sanitation promotion
- Community Health Worker (CHW) engagement
The role requires strong collaboration with district authorities, health facilities, CHWs, NGOs, and UN partners to strengthen national nutrition and WASH systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Planning & Implementation (35%)
- Lead integrated Health, Nutrition, and WASH BCC activities across project areas
- Ensure timely and high-quality implementation aligned with World Vision and national standards
- Manage project budgets, procurement processes, and technical deliverables
- Strengthen community ownership through effective CHW engagement
2. Strategy & Technical Leadership (20%)
- Contribute to national nutrition, health, and WASH strategies
- Scale up proven models such as PD/Hearth, GMP, CMAM, TTC, and WASH-UP
- Support innovation and learning in nutrition-sensitive programming
3. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting (15%)
- Develop and refine monitoring tools to track program performance
- Analyze data to inform evidence-based decision-making
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories
4. Capacity Building & Mentorship (10%)
- Train staff, CHWs, caregivers, and partners on nutrition and WASH models
- Provide coaching and mentorship to ensure sustainable program delivery
5. Resource Mobilization & Partnerships (10%)
- Support proposal development and donor reporting
- Strengthen partnerships with government institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs
6. Integration, Gender & Inclusion (10%)
- Mainstream gender, disability inclusion, environment, and child protection
- Promote nutrition-sensitive agriculture and livelihoods interventions
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, Nutrition, Environmental Health, or related field
- HEC equivalence certificate required for foreign qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Health, Nutrition, and WASH programming
- Strong skills in project management, budgeting, and M&E
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English (French is an added advantage)
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in at least one World Vision nutrition model (PD/Hearth, GMP, CMAM)
- Experience in proposal writing, partnership building, and knowledge management
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and report-writing skills
