We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Rwandan professional to join our team as a Nutrition, Health & WASH Coordinator. This role offers an exciting career growth opportunity within a dynamic global organization committed to transforming lives.

Role Purpose

The Nutrition, Health & WASH Coordinator will provide strategic, technical, and programmatic leadership in implementing integrated Health, Nutrition, and WASH Behavior Change Communication (BCC) programs. The role focuses on evidence-based, community-led interventions such as:

  • Positive Deviance/Hearth (PD/Hearth)
  • Growth Monitoring & Promotion (GMP)
  • Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM)
  • Hygiene and sanitation promotion
  • Community Health Worker (CHW) engagement

The coordinator will work closely with government, community health workers, and partners to strengthen nutrition outcomes, improve disease prevention, and enhance the wellbeing of vulnerable children and families across Rwanda.

Key Responsibilities

Program Planning & Implementation (35%)

  • Lead Health, Nutrition, and WASH BCC activities.
  • Oversee project budgets, procurement, and technical execution.
  • Strengthen community engagement through CHWs.

Strategy & Technical Leadership (20%)

  • Contribute to national nutrition and WASH strategies.
  • Scale up proven models such as PD/Hearth, GMP, CMAM, TTC, and WASH-UP.
  • Support innovations in nutrition-sensitive interventions.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting (15%)

  • Develop tools to track program progress.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices.
  • Ensure data-driven decision-making for program improvements.

 Capacity Building (10%)

  • Train staff, CHWs, and caregivers on nutrition and WASH models.
  • Mentor teams to ensure effective and sustainable program delivery.

 Resource Mobilization & Partnerships (10%)

  • Support proposal writing and donor engagement.
  • Strengthen collaborations with government, UN agencies, and NGOs.

 Integration & Inclusion (10%)

  • Mainstream gender, disability, environment, and child protection into programs.
  • Promote nutrition-sensitive agriculture and livelihoods support.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, Nutrition, Environmental Health, or a related field (HEC equivalence certificate required for foreign degrees).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Health, Nutrition, and WASH programming.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and M&E skills.
  • Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English (French is an asset).

Preferred:

  • Certification in at least one World Vision Nutrition model (e.g., PD/Hearth, GMP, CMAM).
  • Experience in partnership building, proposal writing, and knowledge management.
  • Strong leadership, community mobilization, and report-writing skills.

Additional Information

  • Work Environment: Based at WVR Head Office (Kigali) with up to 50% local travel.
  • Physical Requirement: Must be in good health with valid medical clearance.
  • Languages: Fluency in English & Kinyarwanda required; French is an advantage.
