About the Role
Save the Children is seeking a Driver to support its programs in Rwanda. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and professional management of the organization’s fleet while meeting transportation needs of staff and projects.
This role also serves as a replacement driver during staff leave and provides weekend duty support when needed. In case of a humanitarian emergency, flexibility to work beyond regular hours will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport staff and goods to project field sites.
- Maintain and update the travel board and vehicle request records.
- Ensure vehicles are well-maintained, clean, and roadworthy.
- Conduct daily checks, logbook updates, and fuel consumption reports.
- Follow up on vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Provide courier services as required.
- Support upkeep of office and staff residences when assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Must be a Rwandan national.
- Valid national driving license (Category B and D).
- A2 Mechanic certificate or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years proven driving experience.
- Secondary education or higher.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Physically fit and able to work long hours.
Desirable:
- Experience with NGO or humanitarian organizations.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
