About the Role

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group (WBG), is recruiting an Associate Operations Officer in Kigali, Rwanda. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to IFC’s mission of promoting sustainable development and private sector growth in emerging markets.

Working closely with the Resident Representative for Rwanda, you will support the implementation of IFC’s country program, coordinate operations, strengthen partnerships, and identify high-impact investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client and stakeholder engagement, building strong partnerships across public and private sectors.
  • Identify, evaluate, and support potential investment opportunities in Rwanda through market research, sector mapping, and financial analysis.
  • Conduct due diligence and provide operational support to IFC investment, advisory, and upstream teams.
  • Contribute to strategic country-level documents, presentations, company profiles, and case studies.
  • Monitor project implementation, track KPIs, and prepare high-quality analytical reports.
  • Support the planning and delivery of missions, seminars, and conferences.
  • Act as a key liaison for operational data, research, and reporting needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IFC’s investment portfolio in Rwanda.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Master’s degree (MBA, Economics, Finance, or related field).
  • Experience: At least 5 years in corporate finance, private equity, consulting, or business development in Rwanda.
  • Technical Skills: Strong financial analysis, market research, reporting, and project management skills. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word; database and AI tool knowledge is an advantage.
  • Languages: Excellent written and spoken English. Fluency in French or Kinyarwanda is a strong plus.
  • Competencies: Analytical thinker, effective communicator, detail-oriented, results-driven, and skilled in building partnerships. Knowledge of IFC/WBG operations is desirable.
