 About the Role

The Biofortified Variety Trials & Adoption Coordinator will lead testing, evaluation, and farmer adoption research for biofortified maize varieties.

You will manage on-station and on-farm trials, ensure compliance with DUS, VCU and UPOV standards, and collaborate with farmers, extension teams, and partners to accelerate adoption.

 Key Responsibilities

 Variety Performance Trials (Station & On-Farm)

  • Design and implement maize variety trials with research specialists
  • Monitor agronomic practices and trial performance
  • Ensure high-quality data collection throughout growing seasons
  • Organize field days and demonstration events
  • Evaluate farmer preferences and adoption potential
  • Support scaling of released biofortified maize varieties

 Farmer Perception & Data Management

  • Lead farmer preference and perception studies
  • Oversee field operations from planting to harvesting
  • Ensure compliance with national and international research standards
  • Manage data collection, validation, and storage
  • Maintain organized DUS and VCU trial databases

 Reporting & Team Leadership

  • Produce seasonal and annual technical reports
  • Supervise technical staff and field teams

 Must Have

 Salary Expectation 

While the salary is not publicly disclosed, similar Coordinator-level NGO roles in Rwanda typically range between:
