Position Summary
CHAI is recruiting a Vector Control Forecast Associate to support global malaria forecasting systems focused on vector control commodities such as:
- Insecticide-Treated Nets (ITNs)
- Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) insecticides
The role involves supporting data-driven forecasting models used to predict global demand for malaria prevention tools over a 5-year period.

Key Responsibilities
1. Data Analysis & Modeling
- Run forecasting models using standardized tools
- Clean and validate large datasets
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Generate demand forecasts for malaria commodities
2. Reporting & Forecast Development
- Produce 5-year global demand projections
- Prepare presentations for stakeholders
- Support communication with global health partners
- Respond to technical forecasting queries
3. Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work with internal CHAI forecasting teams
- Align vector control data with broader health models
- Support review cycles and feedback integration
4. Data Management & Documentation
- Maintain forecasting datasets
- Track assumptions and methodology updates
- Document analytical processes clearly
5. Quality Control
- Validate forecast outputs before publication
- Support dashboard updates
- Ensure compliance with data quality standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Public Health or related field
- 1–2 years experience in:
- Data analysis
- Research or consulting
- Quantitative modeling
Strong skills in:
- Excel
- PowerPoint
R programming
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work in teams
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)
- Experience with large datasets
- Exposure to forecasting or modeling
- Familiarity with dashboards (e.g. R Shiny)
- Background in global/public health
